MINI-GRANTS

Mini-grant applications are available from the Nebraska Office of Highway Safety (NOHS) for the items listed below. The mini-grants are applications, which must be approved by the NOHS prior to the applicant making any expenditure. The mini-grants are typically for the purchase of a specific item, or a short-term (not longer than 30 days) activity. The following explains the mini-grants available and provides the option to download each specific mini-grant application. After downloading and completing the mini-grant application form it may be mailed or faxed to the NOHS for approval.

EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY

All applicants being awarded equipment through the mini-grant process must report to the NOHS the activity generated annually for three (3) years. The activity to be reported will be clearly defined and forwarded with the award letter so the activity can be captured once the piece of equipment is put into service. In the Fall, the NOHS will forward the agency an activity reporting form to complete and return to the NOHS by a specified date.

Prior to completing a mini-grant contract every state, county, community, law enforcement agency, organization, etc. eligible to apply and receive federal funding must read and comply with the guidelines of the Grant Contract Proposal Application Guide and Policies and Procedures document.
