PROJECT GRANTS

In May 2012, the Nebraska Office of Highway Safety (NOHS) announced the availability of grant contract applications for federal fiscal year 2013 projects. Agencies eligible to apply for funding assistance include government and non-profit organizations in the twenty-three priority counties listed below. Projects or activities considered for funding assistance are aimed at reducing fatal and serious injury crashes within the traffic safety areas of occupant protection, youth, alcohol, and speed.

FISCAL YEAR 2013 PRIORITY COUNTIES

Through crash data analysis, the following 23 counties and their communities have been identified as “Priority Counties” for fiscal year 2013 funding:

Adams Dakota Gage Lincoln Saline Seward
Buffalo Dawson Hall Madison Sarpy Washington
Cass Dodge Hamilton Otoe Saunders York
Custer Douglas Lancaster Platte Scotts Bluff  

 

 

 


FUNDING PERIOD

  • Projects may be funded for up to one year beginning October 1 through September 30 (which corresponds with the federal fiscal year).

GRANT CONTRACT APPLICATION

Prior to completing a project grant contract, every state, county, community, law enforcement agency, organization, etc. eligible to apply and receive federal funding must read and comply with the guidelines of the "Grant Contract Proposal Guide and Policies and Procedures" document.

Deadline - applications must be received by the NOHS on or before June 30, 2012, for the FY2013.

Applicants will be notified of project approval or denial no later than September 1, 2012, for the FY2013.
